Monika Rawal Kukreja of Hindustan Times wrote "In a nutshell, Selfiee ticks most of the boxes that Hindi film audiences look for. So, if you are fine with Akshay Kumar continuing to do Hindi remakes of films from the South, you would definitely enjoy Selfiee." The Times of India gave the film 3.5/5 and wrote "Overall, Selfiee is an easy-breezy watch, with some good performances and several laugh-out-loud moments. If you're looking for a rib-tickling comedy over the weekend, this one could be a good pick."Bollywood Hungama gave 3/5 and wrote " SELFIEE works due to the plot, direction, dialogues and faceoff between the actors. At the box office, the film will have to rely on strong word of mouth and spot bookings to make a mark." Shubra Gupta of The Indian Express wrote "This film has an interesting premise but it is never allowed to overshadow its larger-than-life hero Akshay Kumar himself." Komal Nahta of Film Information wrote "Selfiee is a very entertaining fare. Raaj Mehta’s direction is superb. He has got the core of the subject correctly. His shot compositions and narrative style are very good."
